Bequests for Will or Trust

No other planned gift is as simple to implement and as easy to change. You maintain the use, benefit, enjoyment, and control of your assets for as long as you need them, for as long as you live.

OPTIONS FOR YOUR WILL:
  • You can include a bequest provision in your will or living trust that specifies an amount or percentage of your estate
  • You may make adjustments to your will or trust if circumstances change.
  • Your loved ones will not be overlooked because you can specify the amount given to each party.
  • A charitable bequest or trust distribution is deductible for federal estate tax purposes.  There is no limit on the deduction your estate can claim.  The gift may also be exempt from state inheritance taxes.

BENEFITS OF INFORMING PWNA OF YOUR PLANS:

It is not necessary for you to inform Partnership With Native Americans of your intentions to include the organization or PWNA program in your Will but it is very helpful for us to know.

  • It will give us an idea of aid and help that we will receive years into the future, as we follow our mission “to help Native American people improve the quality of their lives by providing opportunities for them to bring about positive change in their communities.”
  • We would like to include you in our Heritage Circle to recognize your desire to help the Native American community through a bequest. We will respect your privacy if you wish to remain anonymous.
  • It is important for us to know if you have restricted your bequest so we are better able to ensure that your intentions are carried out.
  • We can help you with questions you may have in making a specific bequest to the program of your choice.
  • We would inform you if any of the program names have changed, such as ROAR to RAR (Reservation Animal Rescue) so you can determine if an existing Will should be updated.

We know that circumstances may change over the years and you may need to revise your Will accordingly. A Will is not “set in stone” but it is a testament to one’s support and belief in the services we are providing Native American communities.
