Once a week, the pantry opens their doors to Elders and families to provide food to hundreds of households. According to Maryline, participants will begin to line up at the door as early as 7:00 a.m. in order to receive a food box when the doors open at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers work hard to organize the various items that can be selected.

For Elders living in areas with limited access to hospitals and specialists, the challenge to stay healthy and nourished is vast. Because resources are limited to house Elders, many choose to continue living independently. Early detection and intervention is critical for disease prevention, and is especially critical in our rural communities.
